Notes

Occasional marginal annotations by a later hand point out names mentioned in the poems. At fol. 9r, there is a note of possession (‘Di Simone Berti’).

Close to RVF 136-138, there is a cross to signal they should not be read, due to their problematic content.

Historiated initial in gold for RVF 1 showing a brazier and floral decorations (fol. 9r); before every poem is a running header in red ink; decorated initial for Triumphus Amoris I (fol. 148r); at fol. 9r is an architectural frame with acoat of arms within a wreath at the bottom of the fol. (the coat of arms has been erased); at fol. 148r is another architectural frame with floral decorations.
