Fol. 7r has a rich architectural frame with floral decorations. At the top of the fol. is a rectangular-box illumination showing Laura crowning Petrarch while a cupid is shooting an arrow; the three figures are standing before the river Sorgue and a bay tree. In the bottom left and right corners of the fol. are two cupids playing musical instruments; these are placed next to a coat of arms in central position; the latter represents a gold bird wing pierced by a wing. Decorated initials in gold for da Tempo’s life of Petrarch, Petrarch’s note on Laura, RVF 1 (fol. 7r), and several other RVF poems (in an unsystematic pattern). According to Mulas (2014, 525), the ms. belonged to Giacomo Alfieri, who was a courtier of Francesco Sforza in Milan. The iconographic decoration is due to the Maestro di Ippolita Sforza (Mulas 2014, 525-526).
