parchment; various scripts (semi-gothic hand: 2r-84r; humanistic script: 90r-137v; other hands); first two Petrarchan poems copied in the middle of the fol. with annotations on all four sides and commentary in prose, distributed across the page after the end of each poem; the other RVF poems with one verse per line, with annotations irregularly distributed on the sides.

fol. 1r: an erased Italian prose text, over which many scattered words and strokes of pen;
 
fol. 1v: some sentences in Latin by a different hand, below the three-line Latin epitaph for Petrarch by a different semi-gothic hand and some scattered words, strokes of pen, and a few drawings of armed soldiers;
 
fols. 2r-2v: alphabetical index of the first lines of RVF poems of fols. 4r-84r (under each letter of the alphabet [A-V], poems are listed in alphabetical order);
 
fol. 2v-3r: list of first lines of RVF poems not included in the previous index;
 
fol. 3v: first part of a poem, ‘Nobilissima donna alcui ualore’ by a later hand;

fols. 50v-84r: almost two hundred RVF poems (sonnets, madrigals, and ballads), some disperse, some poems attributed to Petrarch, and some other poems by anonymous author (mostly written by the same hand, but a few by different ones) with annotations. RVF poems are copied in an unusual order; e.g., the first three sonnets are RVF 365, 62, and 99, while the last ones are RVF 113 and 1;
 
fols. 90r-137v: 151 (mainly RVF) poems absent from the collection of poems of fols. 4-84 (mostly RVF sonnets, but also some RVF ballads, canzoni, and sestine, and some disperse too) organized in alphabetical order of initial letter (under each letter of the alphabet, poems are neither listed alphabetically, nor according to order of appearance); the first text is RVF 25 and the last one is 295.7).

At fols. 15v-84r, marginal annotations by the same hand either provide textual explanations to the RVF poems, or indicate which poems might not be by Petrarch (e.g., next to sonnet ‘Yulius cesar ara paura armato’ is the note ‘no[n] e di m[esser] francesco. Fello f. s\o\’ [fol. 68r]); at fols. 90r-137v, a few marginal or interlinear annotations probably by the same hand either give variant readings, or correct some words of the poems; some maniculae.
 
The last fols. of the ms. have been torn out (since RVF 297 is copied only until l. 7).
