Fol. 1r has a rectangular-box illumination showing a man chasing a woman within a floral decorated architectural frame and a partially erased coat of arms presumably belonging to the Piccolomini family at the bottom of the fol. Fol. 140r has a rectangular-box illumination showing the chariot of Love towed by two white horses on which a Cupid is shooting an arrow within a floral decorated architectural frame. Historiated initial for RVF 1 at fol. 1r representing Petrarch in a pink habit holding a green book. Decorated initials in gold with a decorated border for RVF 246 (fol. 98r), each Triumphus (fols. 140r, 152r, 156v, 164r, 172v, and 174r), Bruni’s life (fol. 177r), and the final index of RVF (fol. 185r). There is a running header for each RVF poem.
After fol. 63 a fol. containing RVF 136-139 has been entirely ripped off.
