Only RVF 324-325, 331, 359-360 are extensively annotated. There are two series of Latin annotations: 1) concise interlinear and marginal ones making reference to rhetorical devices (‘comparatio’) or briefly explaining obscure passages (e.g. the proposed identification of the interlocutors – ‘responsio laure’; ‘responsio francisci’ – next to RVF 359); 2) next to opening lines, longer marginal annotations that offer content summaries.
At fol. 1r is a draft of a floral decoration and the outline of a coat of arms; next to RVF 1 is a column sketched in pencil and at the bottom of the fol. is a seventeenth-century note of possession. Lines are missing from RVF 366 due to the likely loss of a fol. after fol. 131.
Odd missing words in the text of the RVF have been replaced by words written in pencil; some maniculae.
