Notes

The dialogue, set at Paolo da Diacceto’s villa at Pelago near Florence, records discussions on passages from the Triumphi between Fonzio, Giraldo Girardi, and da Diacceto. Fonzio shows a deep interest in philological annotations.

Fol. 2r has a floral architectural decoration with at the bottom of the folio two angels holding the coat of arms of the Soderini family; the title is inscribed in a rectangular box with a blue background; initial ‘S’ of the text in a gold background.
