Ridolfi’s commentary follows each poem in the form of a prose text under the heading ‘Annotatione’. His commentary 1) clarifies the literal meaning of each poem and provides a summary of the general content of the Triumphi (‘L’intentione del poeta sopra li Trionfi’); 2) focuses on grammatical and linguistic aspects, as well as some metrical observations.
