RVF 114 (fol. 48v) has been erased by pen. After fol. 60 and after fol. 62, two fols. (one with RVF 130.6-14, 131-133; and one with four sonnets, presumably RVF 136-139) are missing.
Decorated initials in gold for every RVF poem; at fol. 1r is an architectural frame with five medallions on the right and lower border (within the central medallion of the lower margin is a coat of arms). Before every RVF poem is a running number written in red.
This ms. was given to Giosuè Carducci by Cesare and Giacomo Zanichelli to celebrate Carducci’s 35 years of University teaching, as is attested by a separate letter (dated 7 Feb. 1896) included in the ms.
