Fol. 17r has an architectural frame with white vine-stem decoration and a historiated initial for RVF 1 showing a laurel-crowned Petrarch holding an open book; at the bottom are two cupids holding a blank coat of arms.
 
Decorated initials in gold with floral decoration for Bruni’s life (fol. 1r), and for each Triumphus (fols. 157r, 169r, 172r, 181r, 188r, 190v); initials in gold on a coloured square for each capitolo of the Triumphi.
